The writ petition has been filed in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondent namely the Revenue Divisional Officer, Mettur Dam, Salem District, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.01.2020, seeking License under the Tamil Nadu Public Buildings (Licensing) Act, 1965.

In the affidavit filed in support of the petition, it had been stated that the writ petitioner's Club namely Mettur Bharathi Sports and Recreation Club, Mettur is a registered Club under the societies Registration Act with the registration No.39 /2019. It is stated that the primary object of the said club is to establish the relation of friendship and good will towards https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
one another and to establish a library, perform visual arts and promote Tamil Literature among its members and also to provide both indoor and outdoor games. It is stated that since the club started functioning, the CCTV cameras are installed in various places. It is stated however, the Police were visiting the place and they stated that permission must by granted for the building license. Accordingly, the petitioner had applied with building license on 30.01.2020. It is stated that there is no response from the respondent herein.

In view of the same, a mandamus is issued to the respondent to consider the application dated 30.01.2020 of the petitioner, if required issue notice to the petitioner, calling upon the petitioner to produce documents, if required also make the personal inspection to the premises and thereafter if the petitioner satisfies all the necessary rules and conditions, take a decision whether to grant or not to grant license to the premises. At any rate, the decision must be taken on or before, 15.03.2020.
4. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
