Prayer : Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents, especially the first respondent to release an extent of 6.25 Acres of land comprised in Survey Numbers 655, 656, 657 and 658 of Uppilipalayam Village, Coimbatore Taluk under Section 48B of the Land Acquisition Act.

The prayer sought for herein is for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents, especially the first respondent to release an extent of 6.25 Acres of land comprised in Survey Numbers 655, 656, 657 and 658 of Uppilipalayam Village, Coimbatore Taluk under Section 48B of the Land Acquisition Act.
2. The land in question acquired from the petitioner had been put to use by the sixth respondent ie., the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, which factor is not controverted even by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. In that view of the matter, since the prayer sought for in the writ petition has become infructuous, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks disposal of the writ petition.
4. Accordingly, recording the aforesaid statement, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
