Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to appoint the officials in the counting centre from other Taluk Government employees for to conduct counting of votes for the election of the highly sensitive 7th Ward member in Mudukulathur Town Panchayat, Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram District and direct the respondents to take video coverage of entire counting proceedings and provide adequate police protection at counting centre in Government Girls Hr. Sec School, Paramakudi.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The writ petition has been filed seeking appointment of an official of the other Taluk Government employee for counting of votes for 7th Ward of Mudukulathur Town Panchayat,
2. The counting and declaration of result is going to be covered by CCTV camera as per the direction given by this Court, followed by the guidelines of the State Election Commission.
3. As regards police protection, no reason has been assigned by the petitioner. No allegation has been made against any one till date to make out a case for police protection. While the voting took place on 19.02.2022, police protection at the time of counting of votes, without any material, cannot be accepted.
4. In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed. There will be no order as to costs.
