Road, Perungudi Main Road, Thiruvalluvar Street, Kandanchavadi, Chennai - 600 096, on the basis of petitioner representation dated 30.01.2020 within a stipulated period as directed by this Hon'ble Court.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to provide electricity connection to petitioner's house cum hut at Door No.6/12, M.G.R. Road, Perungudi Main Road, Thiruvalluvar Street, Kandanchavadi, Chennai - 600 096, on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 30.01.2020 within a stipulated period as directed by this Court. 2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner made application for electricity service connection and since the same has not yet been considered, has filed this writ petition. 2/5
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court, without going into the merits of the case, issue direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's application and to pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame.
4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 3 submitted that no application seeking electricity service connection was received from the petitioner. If any application is received from the petitioner, upon satisfaction of title, the respondents will pass appropriate orders.
5.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to make application seeking electricity service connection before the respondents, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the said application, the respondents shall consider the same, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the application.

6.This writ petition is disposed of with the above observations and directions. No costs.
