Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus to direct the first and second respondents herein to take into account by considering the date of appointment as the crucial date of preparation of 'C' list for further or subsequent or any promotions and to revise the seniority in the rank of Head Constables in the range seniority and place petitioner's name above to Juniors so as to enable the petitioner to get further promotion as Sub Inspector of Police (AR) according to the seniority on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 01.03.2016.

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondents to take into account the date of appointment for the purpose of fixing the writ petitioner's seniority and for promotion in the rank of Head Constable and place petitioner's name above to his juniors so as to enable the petitioner to get further promotion as Sub Inspector of Police (AR) according to the seniority on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 01.03.2016. 2.The writ petitioner is now working as Head Constable in Motor Transport Wing of Armed Reserve Police, Coimbatore. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner states that the date of appointment was not taken into account for the purpose of fixing the seniority of the writ petitioner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3.In this regard, the writ petitioner had submitted a representation to the respondents on 01.03.2016 and the same is yet to be considered.
4.However, without going into the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 01.03.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. The Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. However, no order as to cost.
