Petition under Sections 11 and 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 70/71, to punish the respondents for having committed contempt of Court by disobeying the order dated 18.08.2015 made in W.P. No. 25177 of 2015.

When the matter is taken up, learned Government Advocate for the respondent, produced a communication dated 18.03.2016, issued by the President, Madhulampadi Panchayat, withdrawing the earlier notice issued by her. It is also submitted by the learned Government Advocate that steps are being taken by the Revenue Authorities to issue notice to the petitioner.

Mr.R. Subramanian, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the President, Madhulampadi Panchayat, has dug pits in the petitioner's land and that those pits will have to be closed by the petitioner, so as to enable him to make use of the land.

Since pits have been dug up, in violation of this Court's order of status quo dated 04.03.2016, the same shall be closed by the petitioner.

With the above direction, the contempt petition is closed.
