Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider and pass orders on the application of the petitioner dated 17.05.2017 and issue community certificate to the petitoner's daughters and son viz. 1) G. Mayilvizhi, 2) G. Keerthika and 3) G. Pratheep that they belong to "Kurumans (ST) community" based upon the community certificate already issued to the petitioner's relatives.

(Order of the Court was made by R. SUBBIAH,J.) This writ petition is filed for issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider and pass orders on the application of the petitioner dated 17.05.2017 and issue community certificate to the petitioner's daughters and son viz.

1) G. Mayilvizhi, 2) G. Keerthika and 3) G. Pratheep that they belong to "Kurumans (ST) community" based upon the community certificate already issued to the petitioner's relatives. 2.

The case of the petitioner is that he belongs to Kurumans Community, which is a Scheduled Tribe Community and in all his school records, his community has been entered so. The https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner has two daughters and one son, namely, G.Mayilvizhi (studying SSLC), G. Keerthika (studying in 7th standard) and G. Pratheep (studying in 5th standard). It is further averred by the petitioner that the authorities of the school, where his children are studying have insisted for production of community certificate of his children. Hence, he preferred an application to the respondent on 17.05.2017 to issue community certificate to his children. However, no orders have been passed on the said application, till date. Therefore, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition for the relief aforesaid. 3.

Though a larger relief is sought, considering the pendency of the application of the petitioner dated 17.05.2017 with regard to issuance of community certificate to his children, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in his application, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to consider and pass orders on the application of the petitioner dated 17.05.2017, on its own merits and in accordance with law and following the relevant Government Orders governing the issue, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner. No costs.
