The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime No.401 of 2023 before the jurisdictional Court. 1/4

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police, on instructions from Mr.S.Thiruparkadalnathan, Sub-Inspector of Police, K-4, Anna Nagar Police Station, submitted that the investigation in Crime No.401 of 2023 has been completed and the case has been referred as "Mistake of Fact". However, he fairly submitted that the RCS notice has not been served on the petitioner and the final report is yet be filed. 3.

In view of the above, this Court directs the respondent police to file the final report within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to challenge the final report, in the manner known to law, if so advised.
