O R D E R
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to pay compensation in the order passed in LAOP No.34 of 2001 dated 08.10.2021 by disposing of the petitioners' representation dated 16.12.2022.
2. It is not in dispute that the lands belonged to the petitioners were acquired for public purposes. The compensation determined by the Land Acquisition Officer was not accepted by the landlosers and they preferred an appeal by way of LAOP No.34 of 2001 before the Sub Court and the Sub Court disposed of the said LAOP on 08.10.2021 and enhanced the compensation.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents made a submission that the respondents have agreed to settle the compensation as per the orders passed in the LAOP. It is
further represented that the entire compensation along with other benefits will be settled in favour of the petitioners, within a period of twelve weeks.
4. The Revenue Divisional Officer Smt.K.Manthagini, Thiruvannamalai (Cell No.94450 00420), is present before this Court and made a submission that the files have already been submitted before the Head of the Department and forwarded to the Government for consideration.
5. It is for the Authorities Competent to complete the process, within a period of twelve weeks, to settle the compensation due to the writ petitioners in accordance with the orders passed in the abovesaid LAOP.
6. In view of the facts and circumstances, the respondents are directed to settle the compensation based on the orders passed in the LAOP No.34 of 2001 dated 08.10.2021, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed
