The petitioner who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 28.12.2023 registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 7, 20(2) of COTP Act r/w 273 and 328 of IPC in Crime No.795 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The petitioner is arrayed as A2. The case of the prosecution is that petitioner along with A1was found in possession of 31 bags of banned tobacco products worth about Rs.4/- lakhs.
3. It is stated by the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) that the tobacco products were transported in a vehicle bearing registration No.TN 30 CE 3226. The petitioner is a resident of Rajasthan. A1 is still absconding. 4.Taking into consideration the huge quantity of banned tobacco products and also of the fact that A1 is still absconding, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
