ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to produce the body of the petitioner's father viz., Kesavan, aged about 85 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his father Kesavan, aged about 85 years, who is mentally ill, went missing from 06.05.2021 and thereafter, his whereabouts are not known. 3.

Today, V.Duraiyarasan (Mobile No.94981 49359), SubInspector of Police, Ranipet Police Station, is present. 4.

On instructions, the Additional Public Prosecutor https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

submitted that on a complaint lodged by the petitioner, a case in Ranipet Police Station Crime No.199 of 2021 was registered on 07.05.2021 for 'man missing' and investigation is in progress. In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ranipet Sub-Division, to supervise the investigation in Ranipet Police Station Crime No.199 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu Kesavan, aged about 85 years, is secured, he shall be produced before the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate Court, Ranipet, under intimation to the petitioner.
