All these five petitioners have jointly come to this Court seeking Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to include their names in the current promotion panel for the post of
Inspector of Police, Armed Reserve pursuant to the Memorandum dated 09.02.2017 vide C.No.006006/NGB-I(1)/2017 of the 1st respondent by considering their seniority for such promotion from the date of their temporary promotion as Sub Inspector of Police in Armed Reserve with all attendant benefits. 2.All the petitioners were appointed as Grade-II, Police Constables and subsequently, promoted as Constables and they were further promoted as Sub Inspector of Police, as per the table mentioned below:

Therefore, they gave separate representations to the second respondent in the month of March 2017. As the same has not been considered, they have come forward with the present petition. The learned counsel for the petitioner has also submitted that the petitioners' representations may be disposed of since the representations made by the petitioners is pending for a long time as the benefit of promotion is going to be made to the other people.
4.Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader, taking notice on behalf of the respondents, sought time to consider the representations of the petitioners.
5.Therefore, this Court hereby directs the respondents to consider the petitioners representations on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to mention that if they are found fit, they can be considered for promotion.
