This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents to disburse the family pension to the petitioner herein consequent to the death of her husband R.Ramaswamy who was employed as Forest Watcher and died on 28.03.2024. The petitioner is a widow and has two children. 2.On behalf of the respondents, it is contended that the petitioner had not submitted any representation seeking family pension. The petitioner must first submit an application, which would then be examined by the respondents. Upon due consideration and subjective satisfaction, the respondents would take appropriate action regarding the disbursement of the family pension.

3.However, in this case, the petitioner has directly approached this Court without first submitting a representation to the respondents. Filing a writ petition as the first step is not proper without 2/5

exhausting the primary remedy. Therefore, a direction is issued to the petitioner to first submit a proper representation to the respondents by placing on record all necessary documents as required by the respondents. The respondents shall then consider the application and take a decision in accordance with the law, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.The Writ Petition stands disposed of.
