Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondents 1 to 3 to remove encroachments made by the 5th respondent and other similar encroachments on the water canal in survey Number 298 situated at Chevalier K.S.R.Nagar, Ambattur Village, Ambattur Taluk, Tiruvallur District within a time frame and initiate action as against the 5th respondent based on the earlier representation dated 10.04.2017.

ORDER

(Made by Ms.Indira Banerjee, Chief Justice) The writ petition has been filed with a prayer to direct Respondent Nos.1 to 3 to remove encroachments made by the fifth respondent and other similar encroachments on the water canal in Survey Number 298, situated at Chevalier K.S.R.Nagar, Ambattur Village, Ambattur Taluk, Tiruvallur District, and to initiate action as against the 5th respondent based on the earlier representation dated 10.04.2017.

2. Mr.E.Manoharan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent Nos.1 and 3.

3. We direct the third respondent to cause a local inspection of the water canal situate in Survey Number 298, at Chevalier K.S.R.Nagar, Ambattur Village, Ambattur Taluk, Tiruvallur District, within a fortnight and if any encroachment is found, the official respondents shall take action in accordance with law after putting on notice all concerned, particularly the fifth respondent before us, and conclude the proceedings within two months.
