Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd and 3rd respondents to give a new electricity connection in the name of the petitioner for the flat No.7, IHFD Nagar, Ramakrishnapuram 1st Street, Adambakkam, Chennai - 600 088 on executing an indemnity bond in Form 6 without insisting on production of Sale Deed.

The writ petition has been filed to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to give a new electricity connection in the name of the petitioner for the flat No.7, IHFD Nagar, Ramakrishnapuram 1st Street, Adambakkam, Chennai - 600 088 on executing an indemnity bond in Form 6 without insisting on production of Sale Deed.
2. According to the learned standing counsel for the respondent, neither the petitioner has applied for effecting electricity service connection at office of the Assistant Engineer/O&M/Adambakkam and nor mentioned the flat number/portion name in which electricity connection required. If the petitioner applies with the flat details by producing the necessary proof of ownership and proof of lawful occupation of premises in which the electricity connection is required, the application of the petitioner will be considered as per the existing rule of Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code.
3. Recording the above statements and considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is directed to file fresh application along with the aforesaid particulars as required by the respondents.
