Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating with the declaration of the result dated 04.12.2020 issued by the respondent, for the selection of a service provider in Corporation owned and Corporation Operated (COCO) petrol outlet at Indira Nagar, Chennai in respect of petitioner not select alone as arbitrary and illegal and quash the same and in consequence to direct the respondent to extend the tenure as service provider of the petitioner in the above said COCO outlet for one more year as contemplated in the offer letter dated 09.11.2017.

Challenging the declaration of the result dated 04.12.2020 issued by the respondent, for the selection of a service provider https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in Corporation owned and Corporation Operated (COCO) petrol outlet at Indira Nagar, Chennai in respect of non-selection of petitioner alone as arbitrary and illegal and in consequence thereof directing the respondent to extend the tenure of the petitioner as service provider in the above said COCO outlet for one more year as contemplated in the offer letter dated 09.11.2017.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that during the pendency of this petition, the respondent appointed one A.L.Vijay as service provider on 25.02.2021. In view of the fact that another service provider has been appointed by the respondent Corporation, nothing survives for adjudication in the matter, as the prayer sought for by the writ petitioner herein has already expired and the respondent has already entered and taken possession on 08.03.2021. Learned counsel prays for dismissal of this writ petition as infructuous.

3. Recording the said submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law. No costs.
