ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to sanction and reimburse the medical expenses incurred by the petitioner to the tune of Rs.3,49,754/-.

The case of the petitioner is that she was working as a Secondary Grade Teacher and she retired from service in the year 2008. The petitioner is a contributory to the Tamil Nadu Pensioner's Health Insurance Scheme of the Government and the contributions is being deducted every month from the pension. The petitioner suffered a set back in health and she was admitted on an emergency basis in the Apollo Hospital at Bangalore. The petitioner underwent treatment and she was discharged on 11.11.2019. The petitioner incurred a total medical expenses of Rs.3,49,754/-. The petitioner paid this amount to the hospital from her own funds.

The petitioner thereafter applied for reimbursement of this medical expenses on 11.12.2019. The grievance of the petitioner is that the amount has not been reimbursed and therefore, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents. 5.
It is seen from records that the petitioner is a pensioner, who is contributory towards Tamil Nadu Pensioner's Health Insurance Scheme of the Government. The petitioner is entitled for the reimbursement of the medical expenses for the treatment undergone by her. Unless there are valid reasons, the reimbursement cannot be delayed unreasonably. In view of the same, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to immediately forward the request made by the petitioner through her representation dated 11.12.2019 to the 3rd respondent and the 3rd respondent shall immediately scrutinize the same and sanction the amount and inform the same to the 4th respondent. The 4th respondent shall thereafter complete the process of reimbursing the medical expenses to the petitioner. This process shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make fresh representation to the respondents 2, 3 and 4 along with copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs.
