Mrs.Geetha Thamaraiselvan, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with instructions to proceed with the matter finally. Hence,by consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is disposed finally even at the stage of admission.
2. The petitioner seeks a limited prayer of mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on his representation dated 11.01.2022.
3. Normally, this Court would not inclined to consider such a prayer, seeing as the date of representation is very proximate to the filing of the Writ Petition itself. However, in the present case, the petitioner, who is a senior citizen, aged 88 years, has filed an earlier representation on 07.07.2021 seeking the same relief.
4. He seeks intervention of the respondents to conduct an enquiry in regard to the opening of the Devangar Marriage Hall, Saminathapuram, Arisipalayam, Salem and has also narrated various instances which he states have stood as hurdles thus far, for the utilisation of the marriage hall, that has been locked down for the past 2 1⁄2 years.
5. Considering the circumstances as narrated aforesaid, mandamus as sought for is issued, and the Revenue Divisional Officer/R2 is directed to consider representations dated 07.07.2021 and 11.01.2022, hear the petitioner as well as the private parties mentioned in the affidavit filed in support of the Writ Petition and pass orders on merits, in accordance with law and all other applicable rules and regulations within a period of six (6) weeks from today.
