ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the petitioner's wife Sathya, aged about 25 years before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.
2.It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Sathya, aged about 25 years, went missing on 03.02.2020 and that her whereabouts are not known.
3.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that Sathya was living with her mother within the jurisdiction of Andimadam Police Station in Ariyalur District and she went missing on 13.03.2020. On the complaint given by Palaniammal, mother of Sathya, a case in Andimadam Police Station Crime No.72 of 2020 was registered on 16.03.2020 for 'woman missing' and the investigation is in progress. Enquiry conducted by the police so far reveals that Sathya developed intimacy with one Sasikumar and eloped with him. 4.In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jayankondam to monitor the investigation in Andimadam P.S. Crime No.72 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate II, Jayankondam, who shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody, under intimation to the petitioner.
