Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent No.2 to decide the review petition of the petitioner dated 10.11.2014 mentioned in the letter of respondent No.1 dated 10.12.2014 in accordance with law, within a reasonable time as may be determined by the court.

ORDER
By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.Petitioner is aged 66 years and he has submitted an application for grant of old age pension on 01.07.2011 for himself and also for his wife namely, Tmt.Unnamalai. It is the claim of the
petitioner that nineteen persons residing within the jurisdiction of his Panchayat, who were also similarly placed were granted the said pension with effect from 01.08.2011. Since they have not been granted, a notice dated 28.10.2013 was sent to the Tahsildar, Uthangarai. One year thereafter, the application was rejected by the second respondent vide an order dated 14.10.2014, holding that the petitioner is well off and he does not fall below the poverty line. Petitioner in this regard, submitted a review application dated 10.11.2014 to the first respondent praying for revising/reviewing the order and based on the representation, the first respondent in turn has called for particulars from the second respondent vide communication dated 10.12.2014 and according to the petitioner, many months have passed and he is yet to be favoured with and hence, he has come forward to file this writ petition.
3. Heard, submissions Mr.M.Radhakrishnan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice for the respondents.

This Court, taking into consideration the age of the petitioner and the facts and circumstances and also the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, directs the first respondent to consider the review/revision application dated 10.11.2014 submitted by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible and not later than four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision to the petitioner.
