Mr.J.Purushothaman, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, this main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the second respondent to correct the status of the petitioner as "unmarried" instead of "married" in the Legal heirship certificate dated 27.06.2001 issued by the second respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

It is seen that the father of the petitioner viz., C.Rangasamy died on 28.04.2001 and consequently, the legal heirship certificate was issued on 27.06.2001 by the second respondent showing 7 persons as the legal heirs, out of whom, the petitioner is shown as the daughter of the deceased with the marital status as "married".

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that she is not married and therefore, such wrong entry made in the legal heirship certificate has to be corrected. Ventilating such grievance, the petitioner has made a representation on 26.12.2018 also by relying on the Certificate issued by the Tahsildar, Purasaiwalkam Taluk, Chennai dated 05.10.2017, certifying that the petitioner is an unmarried woman. The said representation is said to be still pending before the second respondent.

Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of only with a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation dated 26.12.2018 and take appropriate action to pass orders on the said representation, after due enquiry. Such exercise shall be done by the second respondent within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
