Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to return back the Original Driving License of the petitioner bearing No.TN20Z20000006038 issued on 12.04.2016 which was valid upto 08.04.2019 containing the Public Batch No.360 dated 09.04.2001 TN 20 Z based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.01.2019 within a reasonable time as may be stipulated by this Court.

By consent of the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner is a Driver by occupation and employed under the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Limited, Villupuram Division, Tiruvallur Zone, Ponneri Depot. According to the petitioner, the petitioner's Original Driving License bearing No. TN20Z20000006038 issued on 12.04.2016, has been seized by the first respondent, pursuant to the accident that https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

took place during the course of his employment, on 15.12.2018. The petitioner made a representation dated 21.01.2019 to the second respondent, for returning the Original Driving License to the petitioner. Since the same evoked no response, he has come up with the present writ petition.

3.Mr.B.Anand, learned Government Advocate took notice for the respondents and submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated 21.01.2019 will be considered by the second respondent on merits and in accordance with law. 4.Considering the above submissions made, this Court is inclined to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.01.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, after affording an opportunity to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
