Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to include Brahmins as Community in the list of Communities of the State consequently directing the respondents to issue Community Certificates to the Brahmins. (Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH,J.) Heard the petitioner in person and the learned Advocate General on behalf of the respondents.
2. The petitioner is seeking for a mandamus directing the respondents to include Brahmins as Community in the list of Communities of the State consequently directing the respondents to issue Community Certificates to the Brahmins. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. On perusal of the affidavit filed, we find that though the writ petition is styled as a public interest one, in our view, no public interest is involved in the same as the question of issuance of community certificate is only in the personal interest of the person who seeks issuance of a community certificate for a specific purpose. The petitioner does not seem to have applied for the community certificate claiming that he belongs to brahmin community and much worse is that he does not belong to such community.

Moreover, the learned Advocate General appearing for the respondents would submit that a person who claims any reservation in education or employment, must produce necessary proof before the authority to prove that he belongs to a particular community so as to recognise him under such community and issue necessary community certificate for any particular purpose and it should be only by individual request and not by way of public interest.
5. In view of the above, the grievance of the petitioner is not sustainable. Therefore, we dismiss the writ petition. No costs. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CCC) //True copy// Sub Assistant Registrar ssk.
