Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to continue the process of sanctioning the medical reimbursement based on the representation of the petitioner dated 07.04.2016 and based on the communication of first respondent to the second respondent dated 18.06.2016 sent in Ref.No.PPO/RC No.6927/D/2014 and that of the reminder sent by the petitioner dated 09.02.2017 within a date fixed by this Hon'ble Court and thereby direct the second respondent to sanction the medical reimbursement to the petitioner. ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuance of a mandamus directing the second respondent to continue the process of sanctioning the medical reimbursement based on the representation of the petitioner dated 7.4.2016, in the light of the communication sent by the first respondent dated 18.06.2016 in Ref.No.PPO/RC No.6927/D/2014, along with the reminder sent by the petitioner dated 09.02.2017, within a reasonable time.

2. The petitioner is a retired Assistant Section Officer and drawing pension in PPO No.R0204461. However, he was admitted in B.P.Jain Hospital, Anna Salai, Pammal, Chennai and he was operated for (RJ)URS-ICL+DJ ailment with stent and finally he was discharged from the hospital on 27.2.2016 and the stent was also removed on 15.3.2016. Consequent to the operation for the abovesaid ailment, the petitioner has presented an application for reimbursement of his medical expenses. As the same has not been considered, he has come to this Court.

3. Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. This Court, considering the limited prayer, without going to the merits of the matter, accepting the request of the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents that the representation of the petitioner dated 9.2.2017 will be looked into, hereby directs the second respondent to consider the pending representation of the petitioner, in the light of the communication sent by the first respondent dated 18.06.2016 in Ref.No.PPO/RC No.6927/D/2014, and do the needful within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
