(through video conference) The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the Second Respondent to initiate conciliation proceedings on the Petition dated 28.09.2019 filed by the Petitioner under Section 2-A of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (hereinafter referred to as the 'Act' for short) pending before the Second Respondent and report its outcome under Section 12(4) of the Act. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

In furtherance to the order passed by this Court on 22.07.2020, Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the First and Second Respondents has produced a letter dated 31.07.2020 from the Second Respondent stating as follows:- "With reference to the above writ petition filed before the Honourable Madras High Court, I hereby submit that the petition filed by Tmt.Polamma under Section 2A of Industrial Disputes Act 29.07.2020 at 11.30 AM. The Petitioner Tmt.Polamma appeared in person while the respondents, the Director of Family Welfare, Chennai - 6 was absent, Subsequently the next hearing of conciliation had been posted on 06.08.2020 at 11.30 AM."

In view of the action taken, conciliation proceedings shall continue further in accordance with law. It shall be ensured that there is atleast one effective sitting every week showing progress of the matter. It is needless to add here that depending upon its outcome, the respective parties shall be entitled to work out their rights before the proper forum in the manner recognized by law.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed on the aforesaid terms. No costs.
