ORDER
Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was qualified with M.Sc.Botany and she applied for the post of P.G. Assistant pursuant to the Notification No.02/2025 dated 10.07.2025 issued by the second respondent. The learned counsel submitted that the petitioner participated in the written examination and was short-listed for certificate verification under his communal category. However, the candidature of the petitioner was rejected and
her name was placed in the list of ineligible candidates, stating that the PG degree obtained by the petitioner was not equivalent, as per G.O.Ms.No.195, dated 14.08.2018. The learned counsel further submitted that a subsequent Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.268, dated 29.11.2019 was issued after G.O.Ms.No.195, wherein M.Com (Computer Application) offered by Periyar University is recognized as equivalent degree for the purpose of employment in Public Services, and the same has also been reaffirmed through G.O.Ms.No.257, dated 24.11.2025.
2. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, a prima facie case is made out and there shall be an order of interim stay. Further, this Court directs the respondents to keep one post vacant of P.G Assistant for the petitioner under her communal category, pending disposal of the Writ Petition.
