O R D E R

The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to consider the application of the petitioner vide ID No.79128 dated 08.12.2016 and sanction the Educational Loan of Rs.4,00,000/-(Four Lakhs only) to the petitioner to pursue her education in B.Tech (Information Technology), Engineering Course for the period from 2016 - 2020 at Panimalar Institute of Technology, Poonamallee, Chennai. The petitioner has made representation dated 28.03.2017 to the respondent.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that in respect of her application dated 08.12.2016 seeking for Educational Loan of Rs.4,00,000/- (Four Lakhs only) and her representation dated 28.03.2017, the respondent bank has not sanctioned the same yet. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has secured second rank in State level and scored 498/500 in 10th Standard Public Examination. Further, the petitioner secured 1111/ 1200 in the Higher Secondary Examination, held in the month of March 2016. The respondent cannot keep the application seeking for Educational Loan pending, for an indefinite period. If the application is in order, the respondent bank should sanction the Educational Loan, as requested by the petitioner.

4. Ms.M.R.Krishna Priya for Mr.F.B.Benjamin George, learned counsel, taking notice for the respondent, also submitted that the respondent has not yet processed the application seeking for Educational Loan.

In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application vide ID No.79128 dated 08.12.2016, for the sanction of Educational Loan of Rs.4,00,000/- (Four Lakhs only) and the representation dated 28.03.2017 and pass orders for sanction of the Educational Loan, if the application is otherwise in order, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With this observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
