By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.According to the petitioner, a Sangam/Society was formed, which was registered under the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983, for the welfare of 30 shop owners at Chidambaram Municipality and in the year 2004, certain lands were acquired in connection with the railway flyover project and all 30 shop owners voluntarily surrendered possession on the tacit understanding that Chidambaram Municipality would provide alternate accommodation to them. The grievance now expressed by the petitioner-Sangam, is that though the fifth respondent made a positive recommendation by means of resolution dated 3.7.2014, recommending for providing the members of the petitioner-Sangam alternate accommodation, the respondents 1 to 3 have not taken any decision so far and in this regard, the petitioner has submitted a detailed representation dated 20.1.2015, to the respondents 1 to 3 and since no action has been taken, came forward to file the writ petition.

3.Heard the submissions of Mr.P.Satheesh Kumar, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.S.V.Duraisolaimalai, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepted notice for the respondents 1, 3 and 4, Mr.V.Anandamoorthy, learned Standing Counsel, who accepted notice for the second respondent, and Mr.R.Lakshminarayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepted notice for the fifth respondent.

4.This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, and without entering upon the merits of the representation, directs the respondents 1 to 3 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 20.1.2015, submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
