ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, seeking an order to direct the respondent to investigate the complaint submitted by the petitioner, dated 13.08.2013 as referred by the State Human Rights Commission and to take appropriate legal action against the police officers concerned.

2. Heard both sides.

3. It is averred in the petition that the police not only filed false case against the petitioner but also threatened him and his family members with dire consequence. Hence, the petitioner preferred a complaint, dated 13.08.2013 before the Human Rights Commission and the same was forwarded by the Commission to the Superintendent of Police for enquiry, but no action has been taken on the complaint so far. Therefore, the petitioner has come forward with the present Criminal Original Petition.

4. Learned Government Advocates submits that on receipt of the complaint from the Human Rights Commission, the Superintendent of Police, Thiruvannamalai District, enquired the matter and closed the same as mistake of fact.

5. Recording the submissions of the learned Government Advocate, this Criminal Original Petition is closed. The petitioner is at liberty to proceed further, if need be in the manner known to law.
