ORDER

The petitioner seeks a Mandamus directing the respondent to consider her representation dated 28.12.2021 and provide electricity service connection to S.F.No.337/1B, R.C.Nagar, Thoppampalaym, Arisipalayam, Coimbatore (premises/premises in question).

2. Mr.Abul Kalam, learned Standing Counsel had accepted notice on 10.03.2022, on which date, I had recorded the prima facie position that the prayer of the petitioner could well be considered permitting the petitioner to furnish an Indemnity bond in terms of Section 27 (2) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code, 2004. This would also serve to address the objections stated to have been made by the property owner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. In any event, and since Mr.Abul Kalam had desired to take instructions in the matter, it was adjourned to today, when there is no appearance by the respondent. I reiterate the prima facie view expressed by me on 10.03.2022, and issue a restricted mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the representation of the petitioner dated 28.12.2021 and provide electricity service connection to the property in question in line with the mandate under Section 27 (2) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code, 2004 calling upon the petitioner to furnish an indemnity bond, as well as any other applicable Rules or Regulations in this regard within a period of four weeks from today.

4. The writ petition stands disposed in the above terms. No costs.
