Respondents Prayer : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 15.11.2015 given by her to the respondent seeking promotion, within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The prayer in the Writ Petition, is for issuance of a Writ, in the nature of mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, made for promotion, dated 15.11.2015, within the time, that may be stipulated by this Court.

The case of the petitioner-R.Kamatchi is that, on 01.04.1981, she joined in the service of the Police Department as Head Constable. Thereafter, she was further promoted as i) Women Sub Inspector (OS), ii) Temporary Women Inspector and
iii) Women Inspectors of Police (Cate-I). Now, the grievance of the petitioner is that, the persons, who held the post of Women Inspectors of Police, were further promoted as Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police, but, the same was denied to the petitioner. The representations made by the petitioner in this regard evoked no response. Last one such representation, is dated 15.11.2015. Since the same was not considered by the respondent, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition, seeking for the aforesaid relief.
4. Mr.O.Djearany, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that, appropriate direction may be issued to the first respondent to consider the said representation made by the petitioner in the recent past, viz., the representation, dated 15.11.2015.

Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, has submitted that, if the petitioner submits one more representation, the same will be duly considered by the respondent, within the time limit, as fixed by this Court.

In the light of the above, this Court directs the petitioner to re-present the representation, dated 15.11.2015, enclosing a copy of this order within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the same. The first respondent, on receipt of the petitioner's representation, which would be enclosed with a copy of this order, is directed to consider the said representation on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks therefrom and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner. With the above said directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
