Respondents Prayer: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Court Act, 1971 to punish the respondents for having committed wilful contempt of the order of this court made in W.A.No.427 of 2013 dated 27.11.2014. ORDER

(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties for some time.

2. The petitioner is a retired employee of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation. The original recovery proceedings, which gave rise to the

present proceedings, was passed in the year 2004. Thereafter, though the petitioner succeeded before the learned Single Judge, it appears that the matter was pending before this court at the instance of the Department. Now, the entire amount is already said to have been settled, as claimed by the Department. However, the same has been disputed by the claimant by contending that still a sum of Rs.1,06,000 and odd is due as on date, having calculated the amount from the date of the order passed by the learned Single Judge.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, it is made clear that towards remaining amount to be paid, the petitioner shall be paid a sum of Rs.1,00,000/-, in full and final settlement, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The contempt petition is closed.
