This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Mandamus, to direct the respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner 1/5
dated 18.05.2015 against the punishment imposed in PR No.8 of 2010 dated 13.12.2010.
2. As seen from the affidavit filed in support of the Writ Petition, that the petitioner had entered into service as direct recruitee Grade II, Constable. Later, promoted as Grade I, Constable. While so, a charge memo was issued on 12.01.2010 on certain allegations, that there was delay in reporting duty. An enquiry was conducted and ultimately orders were passed finding the petitioner guilty. The petitioner preferred an appeal before the DIG of Police, Thanjavur Range. Again an enquiry was conducted and orders have been passed against the petitioner. The petitioner submitted a mercy petition to the respondent on 18.05.2015 under Rule 15 (A)(1)(1) of the TNPSC (D&A) Rules and after examining of the case records, punishment which was imposed by reduction of time scale of pay for one stage for a period of one year 'with cumulative effect' was modified into that of 'black mark' from the date of original orders by the office of the respondent vide proceedings Rc.No.147872/AP.I(1)/2015 dated 28.07.2017.

3. This writ petition has been filed for taking into consideration of the mercy petition dated 18.05.2015 made by the petitioner against the punishment imposed by proceedings vide PR No.8 of 2010 dated 13.12.2010 which has already been considered and punishment was also reduced.
4. In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in this Writ Petition since it has become infructuous. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of, as having become infructuous. No costs. 07.11.2023 Index : Yes/No Speaking order:Yes/No dn 3/5
