Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to conduct free and fair elections for the various office bearers to the Vellore District Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society as per the Rule 1 of Chapter VI of the Uniform

Rules for the State/UT/District Branches of the Indian Red Cross Society under the supervision and monitoring by the State Branch office bearers, after including all the 67 newly enrolled life members forthwith.

ORDER

The prayer made in this writ petition is to direct the first respondent to conduct free and fair election for the various office bearers to the Vellore District Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society as per Rule 1 of Chapter VI of the Uniform Rules for the State/UT/District Branches of the Indian Red Cross Society under the supervision by the State Branch office bearers, after including all the 67 newly enrolled life members forthwith.

2.Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner fairly submitted that due to efflux of time, the relief sought herein has become infructuous and hence, nothing survives for adjudication. However, the learned counsel sought liberty to the petitioner to approach the authority concerned for further relief. 3.Granting such liberty to the petitioner, this writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
