Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to disburse with the Crop Insurance amount in full under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the year 2016-17 to the petitioner, the Loanee Farmer of Veppanthangudi Village, as agreed by the Deputy Director of District Level Monitoring Committee of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana on 05.09.2017 within the stipulated time.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to disburse with the Crop Insurance amount in full under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the year 2016-17 to the petitioner, the Loanee Farmer of Veppanthangudi Village, as agreed by the Deputy Director of District Level Monitoring Committee of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana on 05.09.2017 within the stipulated time.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is an Agriculturist have land at Veppanthangudi Village of Tiruvarur District and as a loanee farmer, is covered under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. During the year 2016 - 17, there was severe drought in Tiruvarur District. The insurance amount was disbursed to adjacent Villages, however, it was omitted in three Villages including Veppanthangudi Village. The petitioner made representation to the sixth respondent under the Right to Information Act seeking the reasons for non-disbursement of the Insurance amount on 26.07.2017 by registered post and the sixth respondent also received the same, however, till date there is no reply. Hence, this writ petition. 3/6

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that without going into the merits of the case, it would suffice, if this Court issue direction to the respondents 1, 3 and 6 to consider the petitioner's representation made on 26.07.2017 and to pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time frame. 4.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondents 1, 3 and 6 to consider the petitioner's representation made on 26.07.2017, in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.This writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
