ORDER
Challenging the report of the third respondent dated 12.04.2016, the present writ petition came to be filed. By the impugned report, considering the mental agony of the fourth respondent due to the sexual harassment caused by the petitioner, it was unanimously recommended by the committee that a sum of Rs.10,000/- towards compensation may be recovered from the petitioner to be given to the fourth respondent and the petitioner be transferred to non administrative post available in the Southern Districts of Tamilnadu under the Directorate of Prosecution.
2.Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents produced a copy of G.O.(2D). No.157 dated 21.05.2018 and submitted that due to the disciplinary proceedings initiated against him, the petitioner was placed under suspension from service under sub-rule (e) of Rule 17 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, until further orders. The learned Special Government Pleader further produced a copy of G.O.(2d).No.184 dated 31.05.2018 and submitted that though the petitioner reached the age of superannuation with effect from 31.05.2018, he was not permitted to retire from service due to pendency of the charges framed against him. Thus, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition, according to the learned Special Government Pleader.
3. In view of the above, this writ petition stands closed, leaving it open to the petitioner to seek appropriate relief in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are also closed.
