O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to direct the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Exclusive Trial of CCB/CBCID), Egmore, Chennai to dispose of C.C.No.17 of 2020 within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the de-facto complainant and P.W.1 in C.C.No.17 of 2020. Inrespect of cheating committed by the accused wherein, the petitioner has lost Rs.50 lakhs during the year 2014, the respondent did not register the case. After direction from this Court, the respondent has registered the case and after five years, they have filed a final report during the year 2020. On 04.02.2021, the copies were given to the accused and the matter was adjourned to 19.02.2021 for framing charges. On 19.02.2021, the charges were framed and the matter was adjourned to 28.04.2021 for evidence. Thereafter, the matter https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

has been adjourned from time to time without any progress and thereby, the present petition has been filed seeking for a direction to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that there are 10 witnesses in this case.

4.In view of the above, this Court directs the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Exclusive Trial of CCB/CBCID), Egmore, Chennai to complete the trial and dispose of C.C.No.17 of 2020 within a period of six months from the next hearing date. 5.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
