Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the Respondents 1, 2, 4 and 5 to rescue the petitioner's friend Harini D/o Matheswaran aged about 19 years from the illegal custody of the 6th respondent and produce her before this court and set her at liberty forthwith.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by C.T. SELVAM, J.] Detenue Ms.Harini D/o Matheswaran, a major, has been produced. Petitioner and parents of detenue are also present.

2. We have interacted with the detenue. Detenue/Ms. Harini informs of having been forced into marriage against her will and that she wishes to join the petitioner, whom she was in love with. Parents of the detenue also appeared before us and expressed their reservations.

3. Both detenue and petitioner inform of danger to life of the detenue at the hands of her parents and family members. We deem it fit to place such information on record. 4.In the circumstances, we would require 2nd respondent to keep a close watch towards avoiding untoward happenings. In the event of any complaint being preferred by the petitioner or detenue, the same will receive with due consideration of the 2nd respondent.

5. With the above direction, Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
