PRAYER: The Writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuing a writ of Mandamus directing the 1 st Respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 23.12.2024 for giving electricity service connection to the petitioner's bunk shop near Door No. 1 Whites Road, near Clock Tower, Royapettah, Chennai 600 014 without insisting to produce the No Objection Certificate, till the decision of Township vending committee, within a time frame as may be fixed by this honble Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the 1 st respondent to consider the representation given by the petitioner on 23.12.2024 wherein the petitioner has sought for providing electricity service connection to the bunk shop belonging to the petitioner. 2.

The learned Standing counsel appearing on behalf of the TANGEDCO submitted that the petitioner has to submit a formal application to the 1 st respondent and that the same will be considered on its own merits and in accordance with law.

In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to submit an application before the 1 st respondent seeking for service connection along with all the relevant documents and the 1 st respondent shall take a decision and convey the same to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of fresh application from the petitioner. 4.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
