Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Declaration to declare the action initiated by the first respondent in R.C.No.1765/86C dated 15.06.1990 declaring the lands comprised in No.173, Selaiyur Village, Saidapet Taluk, Chengalpattu District in Survey Nos.379/3C and 379/3K respectively and presently located within the municipal limits of Ward No.21 of Selaiyur Tambaram Municipality to an extents of 10 cents and 49.5 cents respectively under the Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1978 as excess vacant lands as illegal, unconstitutional and consequently declare the petitioner as the owner of the lands in question in the light of the provisions contained in Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Repeal Act 20 of 1999.

2. When the matter was listed on 04.10.2021, there was no representation on behalf of the petitioners. Therefore, the matter was ordered to be listed on 06.10.2021 under the caption "for dismissal". Even today i.e. 06.10.2021, no one appeared on behalf of the petitioners.

3. Therefore, the Writ Petitions are dismissed for nonprosecution. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No order as to costs.
