ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the official respondents to cancel the patta for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition, which is now standing in the name of the fourth respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The petitioner had given a representation on 10.11.2025 to the official respondents for the aforesaid purpose. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, this writ petition has been filed.
3. Mr. D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3. Since no adverse orders are passed against the fourth respondent, notice to the fourth respondent is dispensed with by this Court.
4. Since the petitioner seeks for cancellation of UDR patta, the competent authority to adjudicate the said representation is the Divisional Revenue Officer, Kancheepuram. Since the Divisional Revenue Officer, Kancheepuram has not been arrayed as a party respondent in this writ petition, this Court by exercising
its suo motu power impleads the Divisional Revenue Officer, Kancheepuram as a party fifth respondent in this writ petition. Registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendment. The learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the newly impleaded fifth respondent as well.
5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation as stated supra, seeking for cancellation of fourth respondent's patta, is considered on merits and in accordance with law after hearing the objections of the fourth respondent as well as any other third party whom the fifth respondent deems it fit to enquire within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation.
6. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the fifth respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 10.11.2025, seeking for cancellation of patta standing in the name of the fourth respondent for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after hearing the objections of the fourth respondent as well as any other third party whom the fifth respondent deems it
fit to enquire.
