The petitioner submitted an application to the Revenue Divisional Officer, requesting to issue a Community Certificate indicating that he belongs to Kurumans community, which is notified as a Scheduled Tribe. The petitioner produced a copy of the Community Certificate issued to his father Thiru K.Gopal, to prove his community status. It is the grievance of the petitioner that notwithstanding the application made on 03 June 2016, follow up action was not taken by the Revenue Divisional Officer. The petitioner is therefore, before this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader on behalf of the respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The documents available on record indicate that the petitioner submitted the application for Community Certificate on 03 June 2016. The respondent issued enquiry notice on 25 January 2017. Thereafter, further proceedings were not taken by the respondent, resulting in filing this writ petition.

4. We direct the Revenue Divisional Officer, Dharmapuri, to consider and dispose of the application dated 03 June 2016 on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from date of receipt or production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
