For Respondents in all WP's : Mr.M.Murali Vinoth COMMON ORDER These Writ Petitions have been filed praying for direction to the Respondents to pay the Petitioners interest for the belated payment of their terminal benefits at the rate of 18 percent per annum, within a specified time frame as may be timed by this court 2.
It is the case of the petitioners that they are the retired employees of the respondents Corporation and their terminal benefits were settled belatedly. Therefore, the petitioners claimed 18% interest on the belated payment. They also made representations on 06.01.2026 and 07.01.2026 to pay interest for the belated payment which have not been evoked any response so far. Hence, the petitioners are before this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
4. In view of the limited request made by the petitioners with regard to
interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits, this Court directs the respondents to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the same to the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order taking into account the bank rate of interest on deposits.
5. Accordingly, all the Writ Petitions are disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
