ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for non compliance of the order dated 31.01.2024, passed by this Court in W.P.No.33242 of 2023, thereby directed the respondents to consider the proposal sent by the Director of Medical Education, Chennai, and Medical & Rural Health Service, Chennai, in order to create the Staff Nurse post as per the actual bed strength for the institutions under the control of the Director of Medical Education and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.

It is seen that after receipt of the order from this Court, the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, had sent a communication dated 03.06.2024, stating that considering the huge financial commitment involved in the proposal and as the creation of posts is a policy decision of the Government, it is informed that proposal will be considered after getting required particulars in a phase manner only. However, the request will be taken into consideration at the time of examining the proposal. Therefore, as directed by this Court, now the respondents are taking steps to implement the order passed by this Court.

Recording the communication dated 03.06.2024, this Contempt Petition is closed.
