Heard Mr.AR.L.Sundaresan, learned Senior Counsel for Ms.AL.Gandhimathi, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.P.Pratap Singh, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

2. By consent expressed by both learned counsels, the matter is disposed finally at this stage, since the point involved is short.

3. The prayer is for a direction to consider the application dated 12.06.2018 filed by the petitioner and grant licence in Form FL II for holding and supplying liquor in the bar attached to the petitioner's Club at Door No.324/1, T.T.K. Road, Teynampet, Chennai 600 018.

4. Admittedly, the application filed by the petitioner is pending and Mr.Pratap Singh, learned Government Advocate assures the Court that the same will be considered on merits within any time limit as may be fixed by this Court.

5. The Mandamus sought for is thus issued and the first respondent, the Commissioner, Prohibition and Excise is directed to hear the petitioner thereupon on its application dated 12.06.2018 either over video conference or physical hearing after intimating the date of hearing to the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of four (4) weeks from date of uploading of this order.

6. The writ petition is closed in the above terms. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
