ORDER
This writ petition is filed to forbear the respondents from publishing the result of the examination to be conducted on 04.02.2026 and its selection process, without considering the petitioners application bearing BB20260006 and HK20260017 dated 15.01.2026 and 22.01.2026 respectively with respect to the post of Coach in Basket Ball and Hockey respectively, pursuant to the Notification No.544573/HR1A/2025 dated 05.01.2026 and further direct the 2nd Respondent to issue hall tickets to the petitioners and conducts the special examination to the petitioners.
2. The case of the petitioners is that they have joined as contract coachers in the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu in Basket Ball and Hockey, respectively in the year 2004. Under these circumstances, the second respondent issued a notification dated 05.01.2026 for recruitment of coaches in various discipline and relaxed the age limit from 35 to 50 years with respect to
SC, ST, MBC and BC communities. Pursuant to the said notification, the petitioners have applied for the said post on their respective disciplines. However, without considering the petitioners application, the second respondent has issued the hall tickets through online on 02.02.2026 to various candidates, leaving the petitioners. Hence, the petitioners have come forward with the present writ petition.
3. Learned senior counsel for the petitioners prayed this Court that direction may be issued to the respondents to consider the petitioners application and pass orders, whether they are eligible to participate in the aforesaid recruitment, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
5. Considering the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioners application and pass orders, whether they are eligible to participate in the aforesaid recruitment, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
