PRAYER : Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records of the 2nd Respondent dated 11.04.2016 in Order No.1-5/GEPLA/ROM/2016 and quash the same.

The order dated 11.04.2014 is under challenged in the present writ petition. The order speaks about telecasting of unregistered channel by cable operators.

2. It is relevant to consider Para 9 of the counter affidavit filed by the 2nd respondent, which reads as under:- " I submit, on consideration of the representation of the association and also based on the circumstances need to make the general public of Puducherry aware of the election process and to educate on SVEEP (Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation) activities for ethical voting and to communicate on election preparedness of the District administration, the District Election Officer, Puducherry had permitted to allow telecast of news subject to the certain condition vide order No.101/GEPLA/2016/NO-MCMC/Complaints/2016 dated 27.04.2016 and contents of this order has been communicated to all Cable operators of Mahe region vide Endt.No.1-15/GEPLA/ROM/2016 dated 29.04.2016."

3. In view of the above stand taken by the respondent in the counter affidavit, no further adjudication is required. If any grievance exists for the petitioner, it is left open to it to redress the same in the manner known to law. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Writ Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
