ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:+ " directing the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 23.12.2025 for giving electricity service connection to the petitioners bunk shop of Sri Sanjana Sandwich Shop in front of Muthu Pharmacy, No.51, Montieth Road, Opposite to No.45, Ceebros Centre, Egmore, Chennai-600 008 without Insisting to Produce the No Objection Certificate till the decision of Township vending Committee, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Honourable Court"
2. Brief Facts:-
3. The petitioner is running a bunk shop in the name and style of Sri Sanjana Sandwich Shop, in front of Muthu Pharmacy, No.51, Montieth Road, opposite to No.45, Ceebros Centre, Egmore, Chennai 600008, from the past several years. Since, there is no electricity supply to the petitioner's shop, he had approached the 1st respondent on various occasions for obtaining the electricity service connection for his shop. However, the 1st respondent had not considered his request by stating that the petitioner has to first obtain No Objection Certificate from the 2nd respondent.

Thereafter, the petitioner came to learn that several similarly placed persons running shops like the petitioner in the Chennai city have been provided with the electricity service connection by the 1st respondent without insisting on a No Objection Certificate from the 2nd respondent. Therefore, on 23.12.2025, the petitioner had sent a representation to the 1st respondent seeking electricity service connection for his shop stating that he is ready and willing to pay the necessary charges towards security deposit and meter installation charges etc. However, to date, the said representation has not been considered by the 1st respondent. Hence, the Writ Petition.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

Considering the fact that some of the similarly placed persons have been granted electricity service connections for their shops, and also considering that the petitioner is ready and willing to pay the necessary charges towards security deposit and meter installation, the 1st respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.12.2026 and grant electricity service connection on par with the other shops within a period of two weeks from today.
