O R D E R
The second respondent/de facto complaint filed a petition in CMP. No.6177 of 2014 before the XI Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C and on the directions of the said Magistrate, the first respondent have registered a case in Crime No.144 of 2015 on 20.04.2015 under Section 406 and 420 IPC against the petitioner herein, for quashing which, this petition has been filed on the ground that the parties have arrived at a compromise.
2.Today, Mr.Madhan, Sub Inspector of Police, CCB, Chennai is present before this Court. The de facto complainant and the accused are present. They are identified by the respondent Police. The de facto complainant has filed an affidavit dated 03.09.2018, wherein he has stated as follows: "2.I submit that a complaint in crime number 144 of 2015 was registered by the 1st respondent based on my complaint for the offence is under section 406 and 420 Ipc on 20.04.2015.

3.I submit that the money that was due to me which was the subject matter of the complaint has been settled and I have received the payment on 23.12.2015. Hence the above case may be quashed since the case has been amicably settled."
3.In view of the above, this petition is allowed and the FIR in Crime No.144 of 2015 on the file of the respondent Police is hereby quashed. The petitioner is directed to pay Rs.1,000/- to Chief Justice Relief Fund [payable in Accounts Section of the High Court Registry] within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
