ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the first respondent to treat the period of suspension from 18.02.2021 to 08.02.2023 as duty period.

2. The petitioner was initially appointed as Town Planning Inspector on daily wages in Paramakudi Municipality. Thereafter, he was promoted to the post of Town Planning Officer, Grade-II in the year 2018. While being so, the petitioner was placed under suspension by proceedings dated 18.02.2021 in pursuant to the criminal case registered by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Department. The petitioner challenged the order of suspension before this Court and this Court directed the Vigilance and AntiCorruption Department to file a final report within a period of six months and also directed the respondents to review the order of suspension against the petitioner by order dated 12.01.2022. The first respondent revoked the 2/4

suspension order by its proceedings dated 08.02.2023, since the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department has dropped the criminal proceedings. Therefore, the petitioner submitted representation to consider the period of suspension from 18.02.2021 to 08.02.2023 as duty period.

3. Considering the above facts and circumstances, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.02.2024 on merits in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
